What to Wear for your Senior Pictures!
As professional photographers, this is our number one question from our clients:
What Do I Wear for My Senior Pictures??
This is for sure a great question, we know how difficult it is trying to pick out outfits, random patterns, pastels, brights, and neutrals! Outfits YOU like or outfits Your MOM likes.
No worries at we are more than happy to help!
Kick Back Grab a Latte or Maybe a Smoothie and let’s talk Fashion!
What to Wear for Senior Pictures?
I’ll be perfectly honest, I’m no fashionista!
However what I do know is photography and the colors, patterns and clothing that are pleasing to one’s eye and look awesome at the locations where we work our magic within.
My first word of advice is please be YOUR BEAUTIFUL SELF!
For instance, when you look back on your Senior Pics you want to remember what YOU were like, not what someone else wanted you to look like. Pick out clothing that represent you and step it up a notch.
Depending on which session time you choose with us, if over 1.5hrs you can have the benefit of choosing two outfits!
Many times our seniors will choose a casual and a dressy outfit.
BRIGHT & CHEERFUL:
This beautiful senior chose a bright & cheerful fun little dress.
As you can see it compliments the sunshine and palm trees nicely.
Here is a similar fun print of a dress.
TIMELESS LOOK OF THE BASICS:
My oh My Beautiful Beautiful Blush! I (Erin) simply adored her blush jumpsuit. Oh my goodness, as you can see she is simply stunning in just one simple color of Blush. Here is a similar blush jumpsuit. or this gorgeous blush colored Lace Dress
FREE FLOWING & FANCY FREE:
I like to call this look “Free Flowing & Fancy Free” simply because she wore a beautiful Tulle Chiffon Type Skirt (which was also her prom dress)
Love this look, sometimes it’s fun to think outside of the box. I mean why not wear your prom dress or a flowy skirt on the beach?!? You could totally do a long skirt like this one and a cropped top like this one to create a similar look.
So I myself am a lover of all things Kimono!
Kimonos are a super easy way to bring a flowy soft feel. They go with most any outfit like jean shorts, jeans, or a dress! Super easy accessory!
Matching Set Simple Black n’ White:
Ok, so typically I say don’t do matchy-matchy, however there are some super duper cute outfits out there with matching tops and bottoms! Here is a similar look. This creates a very chic look, kinda California Style.
PS…in case you didn’t notice, she is the same Kimono styled senior as above. She had fun choosing three outfits!
BUTTON DOWN SHIRT & SHORTS:
A Button Down Shirt and Shorts always looks crisp and clean!
It’s dressy without being too dressy, it’s just an all around “nice look” Don’t be afraid to bring in pops of color and prints! This Senior paired his outfit up perfectly! Here is a similar shirt
There are many feel one should stay away from prints, however they can indeed photograph awesomely (is awesomely a word? probably not) What I’m saying is look at this super cute romper with a beautiful print. There are so many colors within this photo, yet we knew it would work…because it’s what we do! So have fun, pick out some prints, they work!
Here is a cute printed boho dress
RED & BLUE:
Red, Blue, Tan, White, is basically all American!
She chose these colors to help give a bit of pop within the forest. As you can see it’s a beautiful look when within nature. Here is a similar dress and scarf.
CUTE, SIMPLE, FUNKY:
Yep that’s what I see is Cute, Simple with a bit of Funky style within her cute outfit! We started in Southport with her and as you can see her outfit worked perfectly in front of the grungy nature filled wall. Printed shorts similar to these and a crop denim top similar to this one just worked!
BOHO AND BOOKS:
I like to call this look “Boho and Books” She chose a gorgeous boho simple dress with a lace crocheted type attached top. In addition she brought in her LOVE of Reading Books. Perched upon a blanket with cute shoes alongside of her created the cutest look she will forever love!
As you can see there are so many beautiful outfit choices to choose from while planning what to wear for your Senior Pictures. The most important thing of all is to simply ENJOY your MOMENT! From start to finish, enjoy your Senior PICS. We want you to remember this moment forever.Have fun searching for the perfect outfit or outfits and try not to let stress get the best of you while searching for the perfect outfits.
